Measurements of B-c(+) Production and Mass with the B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) Decay

Measurements ofB þ c production and mass are performed with the decay modeB þ c !J=c þ using 0:37 fb 1 of data collected inppcollisions at ffiffiffi s p ¼7 TeVby the LHCb experiment. The ratio of the production cross section times branching fraction between theB þ c !J=c þ and theB þ!J=cKþ decays is measured to beð0:68 0:10ðstatÞ 0:03ðsystÞ 0:05ðlifetimeÞÞ%forB þ c andB þ mesons with transverse momenta pT>4 GeV=c and pseudorapidities 2:5< <4:5. The B þ c mass is directly measured to be6273:7 1:3ðstatÞ 1:6ðsystÞ MeV=c 2 , and the measured mass difference with respect to the B þ meson isMðB þ cÞ MðB þÞ¼994:6 1:3ðstatÞ 0:6ðsystÞ MeV=c 2 .
